Pokémon Has Priced Desire, Not History
For most of its life, the Pokémon card market has rewarded:
- ▪Mascots
- ▪Holos
- ▪Visual impact
- ▪Nostalgia reinforcement
This is normal for a young collectible category.
But it creates a blind spot: Foundational artifacts can remain undervalued simply because they were not emotionally dominant at the time.
The clearest example of this dynamic is Charizard.
